Making the world a better place starts with you. We’ve listed some of the great ways you can use PlanHero™ to dive in and help others during the holidays. There’s no need to look anywhere other than the mirror. YOU can be the change right where you live. Why not start THIS holiday season?!
But How Do I Get Started?
Contact a local homeless shelter or foster children organization to see what they need. Look to pre-schools who cater to at-risk children and develop gift lists for the children and the families whom they serve. Are the streets in your community littered with trash? Quit complaining and DO something about it. Create a signup and send the link to your friends. Get some exercise, share some laughs, and make your community look pristine again.
If you live in a cold climate, do an online search for warming shelters and see if you can organize a group of volunteers to help out. Is there a nearby neighborhood that could use some help with shoveling snow from driveways or sidewalks so that seniors can safely walk to their cars or bus stops? Create a signup and organize a group of pals or youth to do some shoveling…it’s cheaper than pilates and yoga! And the list goes on…get creative…you’ve got this!
Here are some example signups to get those creative juices flowing. Don’t forget that helping others is clinically proven to help in diminishing depression. Everybody wins!
